Matthew is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, improvisor and musicologist based in Bristol, United Kingdom. His performance interests include contemporary classical music, and traditional/folk music with experimental and contemporary influences. His research addresses improvisation in music with a focus on the practices and pedagogies of the long nineteenth century and incorporates his research in contemporary applications both in his higher education teaching and wider musical practice.
